{"id":1299,"date":"2026-08-11T06:21:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T06:21:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marinersupdate.com\/blog\/?p=1299"},"modified":"2026-08-11T06:32:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T06:32:08","slug":"sire-2-0-wk-67-inspection-experience-antwerp-be","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marinersupdate.com\/blog\/sire-2-0-wk-67-inspection-experience-antwerp-be\/","title":{"rendered":"SIRE 2.0 WK: 67 \u2013 Inspection Experience \u2013 Antwerp, BE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SIRE Inspection at Antwerp, BE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Date:<\/strong> 23-Jul-2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Oil Major:<\/strong> Shell<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Inspector:<\/strong> Mr. <em>G<\/em>rd** M**y<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Documentation and discussions regarding our SMS procedures\/compliance in master cabin ( 3 Hrs)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the documentation review and discussions regarding our SMS procedures and compliance The inspector had extensive and detailed questions and discussions regarding the following:<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MSMP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Emergency procedures<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Defects reporting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>COLREG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Procedure for escape\/exit route from machinery space<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Squat<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Brake testing for mooring winches<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>HVPQ<\/strong> \u2013 The inspector thoroughly reviewed the previous observations and checked our awareness of several software limitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deck round (3 Hrs)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After master cabin Inspector started deck round with Chief mate and gas engineer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Checked both life boat , questioned about life boat procedure , recovery in heavy weather and maintenance .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Asked chief mate to Start emergency generator in battery and on secondary method, checked quick closing valve for emergency DG and asked to reset.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Took round on pump dome and asked questions about gas freeing procedures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FGSS room round and asked gas engineer about fuel gas system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check mooring winches , ropes asked maintenance and procedure from company.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Checked ETA light working condition and asked maintenance and company procedure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Took round in Bosun store , asked procedure to rescue from BT room procedure .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-Checked FWD embarkation ladder procedure to rig and Immersion suit size condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At manifold AB was asked about enclosed space entry and rescue procedures , working at height\/aloft procedures, emergency stop , emergency escape<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CCR (2.0 hrs)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Checked all posters in ccr.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Checked discharge plan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Asked Second Mate for gas meter use, alarms, calibration, and testing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BWTS operation in challenging water and procedure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Detailed understanding about SSCL checks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mooring brake test and company procedures, rope twisting and its effect, loads on rope.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Question related to fixed gas detection and sampling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bridge (1.6 Hrs)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Checked thoroughly Passage Plan, Safety settings, WL, Look Ahead of ECDIS, Random publications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Company policies for UKC, ECDIS setup, ECDIS failure, Look Ahead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Asked in detail about Emergency Response Manual Checklist Blackout &amp;
