{"id":663,"date":"2026-06-17T06:30:19","date_gmt":"2026-06-17T06:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marinersupdate.com\/blog\/?p=663"},"modified":"2026-06-17T09:46:29","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T09:46:29","slug":"sire-2-0-wk-59-cap-more-than-just-a-certificate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marinersupdate.com\/blog\/sire-2-0-wk-59-cap-more-than-just-a-certificate\/","title":{"rendered":"SIRE 2.0 \u2013 WK 59 &#8211; CAP \u2013 More Than Just a Certificate"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ch 2.3.5<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Had the vessel been enrolled in a Classification Society Condition Assessment Programme (CAP)?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Applies to:<\/strong><br>OIL TANKER \/ CHEMICAL TANKER \/ LNG \/ LPG<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Potential Ground for Negative OBS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The information provided by the operator in the pre-inspection questionnaire was inaccurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The vessel operator had claimed a CAP rating for modules that were still pending completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The date of the CAP survey was inaccurately declared as the CAP certificate issue date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The operator did not upload the CAP certificate to the document store and the CAP certificate was not available onboard for review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Checklist for You<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2713 Is the CAP survey report and CAP certificate available on board?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2713 Is the date of issue of CAP certificate &amp; rating information provided in HVPQ correct?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Guidelines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PROCESS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This question will be generated for vessels that have passed their 15th anniversary from the initial delivery date and where the vessel operator has declared that the vessel has been awarded a CAP rating in at least one module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to the inspection, the vessel operator must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Provide information on the vessel&#8217;s CAP status in the PIQ (PIQ 2.3) and ensure that the submitted information is accurate.
