From new survey codes to streamlined documentation, the updates aim to modernise the process and reduce administrative burden on ship operators \u2014 here’s what you need to know.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Survey Schedule<\/strong> \u2014 Old ES\/CSM codes replaced with dedicated MPMS-specific survey codes for greater clarity and consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annual Review Process<\/strong> \u2014 The Certificate of Operation and Actionable Items are withdrawn. All relevant information will now be captured directly within the MPMS Annual Survey checklist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Machinery Coverage<\/strong> \u2014 Expanded from roughly 80% to approximately 95% of the class machinery list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due Dates & Overdue Status<\/strong> \u2014 Applicable machinery will no longer carry a due date or overdue status, removing a longstanding administrative pressure point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I-Credit” Requirement<\/strong> \u2014 Removed entirely from the client portal. No longer needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2705 Approximately 20% of machinery items<\/strong> will continue to be surveyed each year
\u2705 Surveys still involve a review of maintenance records followed by external examination
\u2705 Scheme approval remains mandatory and chargeable<\/strong>
\u2705 Safety-critical equipment (pressure vessels etc.) continues under the existing survey process with due dates and statuses retained<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ROLLOUT TIMELINE<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

System migration begins July 2026 and will run approximately 6\u20139 months on a phased basis. Not all vessels will transition simultaneously \u2014 existing approvals remain valid and will be carried forward into the new schedule automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
