Effective 1 July 2026, Phase 3 of RightShip’s Inspection Age Trigger extends the mandatory inspection requirement to Dry Bulk and General Cargo vessels aged 11 years and older. If your vessel hasn’t been inspected, the consequences are immediate.

Action Required — Owners & Managers

  1. Check vessel age — Identify any Dry Bulk or General Cargo vessels built in 2015 or earlier.
  2. Verify inspection status — Confirm whether a valid RightShip Inspection is on record.
  3. Book early — Submit your inspection request before 1 July 2026 to avoid scheduling delays.
  4. Consider Hybrid Inspection — Pre-submitting documentation reduces on-board time to 8–10 hours.
